Hailing from Brisbane, Katie found her passion for performing at a young age playing women far too old for her, drunken whores, evil queens and other melodramatic things that made her parents worried that everyone thought this was an insight into home life...

A graduate of WAAPA, Katie's highlights included Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd; The Young Wife in Hello Again; West Side Story; Blood Brothers and Oklahoma with Jill Perryman. She also created the role of the Witch in the WAAPA Screen Academy and City of Perth short film The Mystery Bride.

Since graduating Katie toured New Zealand with Opera Australia’s My Fair Lady and performed as part of the ensemble in the Australian Premier of Floyd Collins. She has performed in a number of short films, and has completed the rigorous National Actor’s Intensive course with TAFTA.

McKee was selected as a finalist in the 7th Annual Cabaret Showcase judged by David Campbell, Stuart Maunder, Margi De Ferranti, Lisa Campbell, Anne-Maree McDonald and Phil Scott. From here she decided to write, produce and star in her own cabaret Identity Crisis for the Sydney Fringe Festival.

Katie is currently performing in numerous operas around Sydney with the boutique opera company Opera Bites.
