Born and raised in San Francisco, California, Joy has had a diverse up bringing in the arts and sciences. Her background is in the corporate world presenting at engineering forums and conferences. But her passion lies in the performing arts of acting and fire dancing. Her charisma, presence, and expressive nature have led her to a variety of performance opportunities on stage, in films, even in front of the Vatican as an audience.

Speaking English and Chinese fluently, Joy has traveled the world, lived across the USA and in Europe. Her current residency is in the heart of Sydney, Australia.

She has studied at the San Francisco School of Digital Film, receiving valuable camera experience working with directors and green screen effects. Joy is trained in the Meisner and Stanislavski Techniques, and continues her development at the Actor’s Pulse and Actor's Studio in Sydney.
